BRASS BULLETIN has had a warm response. Letters of encouragement have come to us from all parts of the world.
Nevertheless, we need more than just encouragement; criticism, advice and suggestions are indispensable to us for improving the quality of our periodical.
It would be valuable to have one or two correspondents for each instrument (trumpet, horn, trombone) in each country, so that important events in their respective sectors could be brought to the attention of others. Soloists and ensembles should inform us of their activities (records, premieres, tours, concerts, etc.).

The editors of BRASS BULLETIN are aware of the difficulty of remaining objective and impartial. On the other hand, we do not feel that a professional journal gains in stature by adopting a policy of being « nice » to anyone and everyone. Our correspondents should have the right to their personal opinion based on professional experience. If an article, a commentary, or a criticism should provoke a reaction, BRASS BULLETIN, of course, offers the possibility of a reply.

Thus it is that ideas meet and converge. And thus it is that our common interest — music and brass instruments — takes on life, freely offering a stimulus to reflection and analysis.

P. S. — The cartoons appearing here were created especially for brass players (and for BRASS BULLETIN). The three artists to have exploited the theme are Armin Greder, Kurt von Ballmoos and Ulrich Kohler. All of their designs are to be published this year in a book conceived for players of brass instruments. BRASS BULLETIN will inform its readers of the book's date of appearance.

For technical reasons, the article on biorhythm announced in the last issue of BRASS BULLETIN will appear in a later number.
This time, we realize that there is not much information on the horn. In compensation, BRASS BULLETIN No. 3 will bring two articles on this instrument, by Hermann Baumann and Dr. Willi Aebi.
