Brass Bulletin x International Trombone Association

Welcome to the Brass Bulletin Archive

Through this collaboration, the International Trombone Association and the Brass Bulletin Digital Archive are working together to help preserve and share an important part of trombone history. ITA members receive access to a growing collection of articles, interviews, research, and historical documents from more than three decades of Brass Bulletin.

As part of this partnership, members benefit from exclusive subscription rates of CHF 4.00 per month (regularly CHF 5.00) or CHF 40.00 per year (regularly CHF 50.00).

An Archive in Progress

The Brass Bulletin Digital Archive launched in February 2026 with the goal of preserving and making searchable the complete collection of Brass Bulletin, originally published between 1971 and 2003.

The project involves scanning, OCR processing, text correction, metadata indexing, and the reconstruction of thousands of pages into a modern searchable archive. Beyond the article texts themselves, original photographs, illustrations, music examples, historical documents, and editorial materials are carefully preserved as part of the archive experience.

Articles are available in their original publication languages, including English, French, and German. Beginning with Issue No. 62, the archive also includes Italian and Spanish editions, reflecting the international character of Brass Bulletin and its readership.

More than 120 issues and over 1,200 articles will ultimately be included. The digitization effort is expected to continue through 2028, with new articles added every week as the archive grows issue by issue.

The continued digitization of the archive is made possible through the support of subscribers, partner organizations, and members of the international brass community. Thank you for helping preserve and share this remarkable body of knowledge for future generations of musicians.
